World Of Ciel
About
At Ciel, we are global caretakers of the finest coffee. Of all the coffee in the world, one percent is considered specialty grade. Of this superior coffee, only one percent can be deemed Café Privé Sélect, an exquisite selection that is the sole domain of Ciel.
Café Privé Sélect represents our uncompromising quest for the world’s best coffee. Many of these coffees are exceedingly rare, produced only in small lots. All are possessing of unrivaled complexity of flavor. Through established relationships with progressive coffee growers around the globe, Ciel enjoys the opportunity to evaluate the best beans of the vintage on a right of first refusal basis. Once a coffee is accepted into the product portfolio, it is exclusively Ciel, entitled to all the care and privilege that comes with that designation.
Unlike inferior beans that may be subject to waiting at the mill to be processed or languish on a dock exposed to the elements, Café Privé Sélect enjoys only first-class treatment from point of origin to point of consumption. Beans are processed quickly and cleanly at the grower level, sealed and expedited directly to our facility, then micro-roasted to order.
On the day of roast, finished beans are vacuum sealed and shipped express to the hands of appreciative consumers and sophisticated fine dining establishments, along with the knowledge and tools to prepare them into a truly extraordinary cup of coffee. By linking the highest quality beans with roasting excellence and mindful brewing, Ciel delivers a rare taste of perfection.
From Our Founder
I was studying abroad, seated at a tiny café in Puebla, Mexico, when a cup of coffee changed my life. Time briefly slowed as I took in the richly layered taste of that cup, observing the energy, community and vivid conversation, all centered around a common love of coffee. At that moment, I realized that in some way, coffee would be an important part of my future.
From here, I journeyed to the plazas of southern Spain, where I became a student of café culture, in preparation for bringing the authentic experience to America. By 1997 I was the owner of a café in the U.S. The coffee I was sourcing from a regional roaster was the best to be found, but I knew I could do better. By the following year, I had purchased a coffee roaster and my first bag of unroasted green coffee beans, embarking on a lifelong quest. In the 17 years since, I have traveled across countries and continents in search of the most extraordinary coffees, innovative producers and complex flavors.
What began as an attempt to satisfy my own desire for superior coffee, soon became a mission to share the ultimate coffee experience, as I realized other sophisticated coffee lovers were seeking the same qualities I had discovered. With Ciel, I am exploring cultures and expanding palates, focusing all my efforts on delivering to every person who tastes a cup of Café Privé Sélect their own life-changing coffee moment.
Jennifer A. Stone, founder of Ciel Café Privé Sélect, is a Licensed Quality Grader by the Coffee Quality Institute as well as an internationally recognized coffee cupper and judge for the Cup of Excellence.
Friends of Ciel
***ANNOUNCEMENT*** The human toll of the Coronavirus-19 pandemic is being felt throughout the nation and most acutely by the nation's largest body of healthcare professionals - nurses. These nurses will deliver the vast majority of patient care as COVID-19 spreads across the country. To share our thanks and support for nurses on the frontlines, Ciel will donate the three percent (3%) of revenues typically allocated to our "Friends of Ciel" program, to the American Nurses Foundation Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses.
The Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses has four focus areas as follows:
-Provides direct financial assistance to nurses through the newly established COVID-19 fund, which is a one-time grant of $1,500 to nurses who are ill with COVID-19, caring for a family member with COVID-19 or are under employer mandated quarantine due to COVID-19.
-Supports the mental health of nurses - today and in the future. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses experienced extraordinary levels of stress in their day-to-day work. Early research of healthcare workers in Wuhan, China found that nurses working with COVID-19 patients experienced a higher likelihood of depression, anxiety, insomnia, and distress as opposed to other health care workers in hospitals. We can expect the same impact on nurses working with COVID-19 patients in the U.S. It is readily apparent that nurses will require as much mental health and wellbeing support as possible.
-Ensures that nurses everywhere have access to adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as the latest science-based information to protect themselves, prevent infection, and care for those in need. PPE materials both in the appropriate quality and quantities as well as accurate and consistent data-based information are life-critical priorities for nurses. The Fund will invest in PPE materials and the necessary tools to ensure all nurses have access both to equipment and information as they become available.
-Drives the national advocacy focused on nurses and patients. Efforts thus far include ensuring nurses' needs are understood and factored into government decision making by engaging with the Federal Governmental agencies HHS, FEMA, DOL as well as communicating with the current Administration and Congress. The advocacy driven by the Fund will also campaign to strengthen public health efforts in preventing the spread of coronavirus, managing the care of infected patients, ensuring the flow of accurate public information and shaping the future of the professional field, post-pandemic.
Ciel is honored to contribute to these extraordinary heroes who, for the protection of us all, continue to make daily sacrifices in serving on the frontline in the battle against COVID-19.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center
The Loggerhead Marinelife Center located in Juno Beach, Florida is a world class veterinary hospital and research facility dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of sick and injured sea turtles. For over three decades, the LMC has managed a treatment protocol from rescue to release. This means that all sea turtle patients are released immediately upon medical clearance. Sea turtle patients at the facility are actively receiving treatment with the ultimate goal of returning the sea turtle back to the ocean as quickly as possible.
From March through October the 9.5 mile stretch of shoreline from Juno Beach up to Jupiter Island is the most densely nested sea turtle beach in the world. This provides LMC biologists the opportunity to monitor sea turtle activity and collect data beneficial to the conservation of these majestic creatures. LMC has developed a robust research program where scientists have compiled one of the most comprehensive sea turtle datasets in the world. These datasets are invaluable in that they form the basis for conservation decisions used to promote sea turtle populations not only in Florida but worldwide.
As the venerated ancients of our world, sea turtles have been swimming in the oceans for thousands of millennia. The sea turtle mirrors the health of our planet and their struggle for survival is in our hands. Ciel is pleased to donate to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to aid in the protection of this extraordinary endangered species.
