Overview

  • A pressurized extraction of intense coffee for those who prefer this Italian-style method
  • Recommended for espresso-specific Café Privé Sélect
  • Quick and consistent for ease of brewing

You’ll Need:

  • 17 grams Ciel fresh espresso coffee beans for each 1 oz. shot
  • La Marzocco GS/3 Espresso Machine
  • Mazzer Mini Burr Grinder, designed specifically for espresso
  • Fresh, filtered water (with no apparent odors or tastes)

Instructions:

  1. Weigh out the precise amount of espresso for number of shots
  2. Grind coffee to fine grind particle size; the coffee should not appear powdery, but should hold together when squeezed between the fingers
  3. Fill the portafilter basket and tamp to 30 lbs. of force; a good indication is when the basket can be inverted without the coffee falling out
  4. Follow the instructions for your espresso machine to complete proper brewing
